The Little Red Caboose

So, sometimes Robert and I come up with crazy ideas. This project belongs in that category but it was a lot of fun. You might know my boys have somewhat of a train obsession. Part of that obsession has been the Heber Valley Railroad. We figured we do a little advertising for them and spend some quality family time. We built it from the trailer up and started the Thursday we moved to Provo. It was finished a week later for the Pleasant Grove Strawberry Days parade but the paint was still a bit tacky.

Priming the Caboose.

Robert put together a horn that rode under the caboose. The boys loved to push the button.
It's finally done!
Waiting for the Strawberry Days Parade to start. Ben and Emily handed out vouchers for kid tickets. It was a lot of running for me! It was SOOOO hot. We started taking squirt bottles to keep us cool.

Dressed up for the Freedom Festival Parade. A sweet old tractor pulled us for this one.
Jack came for a sleepover and a caboose ride for the Spanish Fork Parade. They were so adorable. Jack's whole family came to the American Fork Parade. I'm not sure what happened to all of those pictures. The couple in the middle lived in our complex. They just got married and were super nice. We had lots of fun with them.
These boys ended up walking most of this 2 mile parade handing out vouchers and collecting the candy the spectators threw to them. I'm a big fan of the Spanish Fork crowd. They were awesome!

There they go!

What a deal. We ended up doing 5 parades total. I'm not sure the boys will ever dress up as engineers or conductors again but we had fun and made some great memories! Thanks to everyone who made it happen.
